Hiking

  • Jockey Cap Rock:
    • This moderate 0.8 mile trail is ” a striking granite outcrop in the Saco River valley, shaped long ago by glaciers. A short trail leads to the top of the dome, affording expansive views of the river valley, surrounding peaks, and the town of Fryeburg below.” See link for directions.

    • The Fryeburg section of the Mountain Division Trail has become a popular spot for running and biking in the summers. Ample parking is available at the trailhead behind the Maine Tourism Association building.
  • Mount Tom Preserve Trail Menotomy Rd, Fryeburg, ME 04037 
    • This out-and-back, 3.3-mile trail offers great views of the surrounding forests and up all the way to the White Mountains!

Historical

    • The Fryeburg Historical Society maintains a museum of local historical artifacts, in addition to maintaining several historical buildings around town. They also host monthly dinners and a popular Mother’s Day tea!
    • It is also home to the Hazel & Owen Currier Doll Museum – This massive collection of antique and unique dolls is housed in the historic Fryeburg Town House and maintained by the Fryeburg Historical Society. Don’t miss this quirky and unique display!

Parks
