Campus Activities Board

Mission Statement: The University of Maine’s Campus Activities Board is a diverse group of dedicated undergraduate and graduate volunteers that strive to program fun, safe and social events for the Black Bear Community. It is our hope to provide inclusive opportunities for engagement and make a difference at our institution.

Who can join CAB?

Any student who is interested in planning activities and having a great time doing it is welcome to join CAB! There are many things that you could do as a member – the options are all yours. We are open to your ideas!!

What does CAB do?

CAB collaborates with multiple student groups to host programs around campus. They design and support campus late nights, such as the annual Halloween Party, the Winter Carnival, and Family & Friends Weekend. CAB members work with the Center for Student Involvement professional staff to support the Annual Student Leadership Conference and plan events for Stress Free Finals. In addition, CAB, through the the campus affiliation with NACA (National Association of Campus Activities), sends a student delegation to the regional conference annually. The conference hosts over 500 performers. CAB members will vote on which groups and artists to bring to the UMaine.

What is the commitment?

CAB members are committed to hosting campus events throughout the year. CAB has a weekly team meeting to determine the weekly needs and plan future events. CAB team members are expected to regularly attend events and work with the performers who come to campus. CAB will collaborate with other organization and Center for Student Involvement for larger scale campus productions.
