Congratulations to SOE Graduate Student George Akandinge

The School of Economics (SOE) congratulates M.S. student George Akandinge on his successful completion of graduate studies in Resource Economics and Policy. In addition to his academic accomplishments, George excelled  as a research assistant for UMaine’s Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center. As a research assistant, he examined the decision-making behind household travel choices in Maine’s Piscataquis and Penobscot Counties and assessed Smart Transportation options in rural states. George also served the SOE graduate student community by helping manage the graduate student web pages. Looking to the future, George will soon (Fall 2023) enroll at the University of Connecticut to start their Doctoral Program in Agricultural and Resource Economics. We are very proud of his accomplishments, wish him all the best in the years ahead, and encourage him to stay in touch. Congratulations George !
