6th MDF-SOE Economic Report issued: Water Quality in Maine

The Maine Development Foundation and the University of Maine School of Economics are pleased to present Water Quality in Maine.  This report addresses the economic, social, and natural impacts of Maine’s comparatively high water quality.  Water is an essential resource in Maine, and water quality affects tourism and recreation, property values, our enjoyment of these resources, the cost of drinking water treatment, and our fishing industry.  Maine’s lakes and rivers are much cleaner than those in the rest of the country, and it is important to protect this critical asset.  This report is the sixth in a series which further explores the economic indicators in Measures of Growth, the Maine Economic Growth Council’s reliable and trusted annual report on the critical issues affecting Maine’s economy.
