PhD student Sandra Goff wins Edith Patch Award

Sandra Hughes Goff

The Edith Patch Award is given by the Friends of Dr. Edith Marion Patch each year to graduate and undergraduate women in acknowledgement of distinguished work they have done while at the University of Maine, and in recognition of their promise for future contribution to the fields of science, agriculture, engineering, or environmental education.

Members of the committee were impressed by the rich integration of research, teaching, and service in Sandra’s exploration of the social aspects of environmental and economic behavior.  Tim Waring is Sandra’s major advisor.

While finishing her PhD, Sandra is working in the Economics Department at Colby College and will soon be joining the Department of Economics at Skidmore.
