March 7: Seeking Balance-A Faculty Workshop
Faculty work never ends. It’s easy to find ourselves working constantly and therefore feeling overwhelmed. We’ll share tips and ideas on finding balance in our lives at this workshop.

March 12: STEMINISM – Women in STEM
A Fogler Library Book Club Event co-sponsored by the Maine Society of Women Engineers. Join this discussion of famous ladies in STEM, bio-inspired engineering, and self-advocacy as a professional.

Facilitating the Professional Development of Staff in your Unit

This event was cancelled. The topic will be covered at the August 2019 Professional Development Day for Chairs and Directors.

April 2 – 25: Against My Will UMaine
Artist and activist Traci Molloy returns with a new exhibit featuring stories of survivors of sexual violence from members of our community.

On the mall in front of Fogler Library.
This event is free, and open to the public 24 hours a day. 

April 3: Against My Will – An Interactive Conversation about Rape Culture and Trauma

This moderated town-hall style panel supports the sharing of difficult experiences in an effort to foster healing and enhance understanding of the issues surrounding sexual violence and overcoming sexual abuse.

5:30 – 7:00 pm, Arthur St. John Hill Auditorium
This event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not required. 

April 5: Rising Tide Career Recognition Awards

Celebrate the storied career of AMY FRIED, 2019 Career Recognition Awardee, with lunch and a recap of her career as she presents Weaponizing Political Distrust, and other political uses of public opinion.

May 16: Advancing Women in Academia – A Networking Conference 
Join colleagues from across Maine to discuss issues relevant to equity in academia.

A panel of accomplished women kick off the event with WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP: Preparing Leaders and Accepting Leadership Roles. Small group discussions allow participants to continue the conversation with panelists, or engage in discussion of other topics. Workshops include Academic Women and Service: Establishing BoundariesDocumenting Teaching Excellence, and Multi-Layered Mentoring: Helping Women Help Each Other.
