Jennifer Bonnet

Jen Bonnet (she/her) is responsible for advancing researcher success and innovation through proposal writing support across all disciplines and at each stage of the grant proposal process. In this role, she works with researchers to find funding opportunities, identify potential collaborations and partnerships, draft various elements of grant proposals, and offer constructive feedback on proposals in development. Jen also works to maximize the ways research teams document the impacts of their research, and assists faculty on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Prior to joining ORD, she was a librarian for over a decade, where she engaged in a wide range of outreach, instruction, consultation, and research.

Some of Jen’s strengths include creative problem solving, flexible, responsive, and impactful instruction, and scholarly communication expertise. She has collaboratively designed a suite of professional development programming to support research excellence in the form of Challenges, which are online, asynchronous workshops aimed at building participants’ awareness and capacity around a theme or topic. Examples of previous programs include the Finding Funding Challenge, several Literature Review Challenges, the Power Researcher Challenge, the Publish and Thrive Challenge, the Racial Justice Challenge, and the Research Impact Challenge. Jen has training in evidence synthesis support, and is currently engaged in knowledge synthesis projects.

Jen holds an M.S.I. degree in Library and Information Services from the University of Michigan, and an M.A. in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland. You will find her publications and presentations here. Whenever possible, Jen is out camping, canoeing, or experimenting with baked goods.
