Down East cites Tasnim study, IPPM in story about how blueberry industry supports sustainability

Down East magazine spoke with Rafa Tasnim, a Ph.D. student in ecology and environmental sciences at the University of Maine, about a study which revealed that Washington County’s blueberry fields are warming at a faster rate than the rest of the state. Tasnim hopes that the methods used in this study will be applicable to investigations of the impact of climate change on other crops. The story also noted that Wyman’s, Maine’s oldest wild blueberry processor, uses Integrated Pollinator and Pest Management (IPPM),  which are best practices developed by UMaine Cooperative Extension for supporting pollinators while controlling insect pests.
