Tisher’s ‘A Climate Chronology’ highlighted in The New Yorker, Inside Climate News
Bill McKibben touted Sharon Tisher’s “A Climate Chronology” in his latest column in The New Yorker. The environmentalist, author and founder of 350.org provided readers looking for a searchable chronology of climate-change events dating back to 1824 with a link to Tisher’s website. Inside Climate News also reported that Tisher’s comprehensive timeline of climate science and policy indicates that national and international policy lags behind, or moves backward, despite increasing knowledge about climate change’s causes and effects. “Three years from now, it will be the 200th anniversary of the first climate science. We’re not very far along at solving this problem,” says Tisher, a lecturer in the University of Maine School of Economics and the Honors College. The timeline provides readers with a better understanding of the challenges of moving forward. Inside Climate News is a Pulitzer Prize-winning, nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization.
