Miner to make appearance on ‘Mission Unstoppable’
Kimberley Miner will be featured on CBS Mission Unstoppable at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.
Show host Fig O’Reilly will talk with Miner, a research assistant professor with the Climate Change Institute, about climate change and sea level rise. The interview will be posted on YouTube.
Miner, who also is a scientist with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, discovered that “forever chemicals” from outdoor gear are in snow near the summit of Mount Everest.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science IF/THEN ambassador recently co-wrote the opinion piece “Deep Frozen Arctic Microbes Are Waking Up” for Scientific American.
While Miner was earning her Ph.D. at UMaine, she developed the first health assessment of glacial meltwater pollution.
