The County previews Northern Maine Rural Living Day Sept. 8

The County previewed the fourth annual Northern Maine Rural Living Day from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Houlton Civic Center and Fairgrounds at 94 Randall Ave. in Houlton. The University of Maine Cooperative Extension co-sponsors the event, which will include workshops on topics from managing apple trees and growing cranberries to plantings for native bees. There also will be demonstrations, livestock displays and youth activities, The County reports. Admission is $10 per person ($15 at event) or $20 per family. Preregistration is recommended.
