Maine State Library selected for national program, UMaine community members to serve on board

The Maine State Library is one of four institutions nationwide selected to receive National Endowment for the Humanities funding to join the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP).

NDNP is a partnership between NEH, the Library of Congress and state partners, focused on the digitization of newspapers representing historical, cultural and geographic diversity, according to a news release on the project.

Two members of the University of Maine community will serve on the advisory board of the Maine State Library’s project: Josh Roiland, assistant professor and CLAS-Honors preceptor of journalism in the Department of Communication and Journalism and the Honors College; and Richard Hollinger, head of Special Collections in Fogler Library.
