Maine Home + Design previews UMMA ‘Contemporary Currents’ exhibit
An upcoming exhibit at the University of Maine Museum of Art in downtown Bangor was advanced in the August 2016 issue of Maine Home + Design magazine. In celebration of a partnership between the Maine Arts Commission and the New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, UMMA will present “Contemporary Currents: Nine New Brunswick Artists,” according to the article. The exhibit will be on view from Sept. 23 through Dec. 31 and will highlight a diversity of creative approaches and genres, the article states. “The government of New Brunswick has a dedicated history of supporting the professional development of artists,” said George Kinghorn, executive director and curator of the museum. “It was immensely rewarding for UMMA to be a partner on this landmark exhibition. We hope projects such as this will inspire future collegial and worthwhile collaborations between Maine and New Brunswick institutions.”
