MMDL congratulates Victoria Quinones, a fourth-year doctoral student, on her recent award of the Susan J. Hunter Teaching Fellowship. This fellowship, established in honor of the University of Maine’s President, Dr. Susan J. Hunter, seeks to foster excellence and integrity in teaching and assessment. Great work, Victoria!

MMDL is very pleased to announce that Olivia Bogucki, MA was selected as the Maine Scholars Strategy Network Graduate Fellow for the 2017-2018 academic year. She plans to use this position to disseminate research on depression in older adults and rural populations. Excellent work!

MMDL Director, Dr. Haigh was accepted to attend the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Butler-Williams Scholar’s Program. More great news! Meaghan Delcourt has been awarded a 2017 Center for Undergraduate Research Summer Fellowship for her work examining depressive rumination and stress-mediated physiological reactivity among individuals who engage in self-injurious behaviors. Meaghan will receive an award medal and certificate during the UMaine Student Research Symposium on April 24, 2017. Congratulations Meaghan! Very well-deserved!

MMDL is proud to announce that former lab manager, Ian Raugh, will join the Clinical Affective Neuroscience Laboratory, directed by Dr. Gregory Strauss at the University of Georgia. Ian will work as a full-time research assistant on an NIMH-funded grant that aims to mathematically model anhedonia in schizophrenia. Congratulations, Ian!

MMDL is very pleased to announce that Victoria Quinones, MA’s  application for a Ford Foundation Fellowship sponsored by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine was sufficiently meritorious to receive an honorable mention!  Victoria’s research examines the relationship between self-injurious behavior, social problem-solving, and stress-mediated physiological reactivity. Terrific work!
