Goodbye, Lord: How We Changed God’s Pronouns in the Hebrew Bible and Why It Matters

Rabbi Beth Lieberman will take us on a journey through the history of Jewish translations of the Hebrew Bible, offer a glimpse into the translation process for the forthcoming JPS TANAKH: Gender-Sensitive Edition, and explore its game-changing potential for the next generation.

Rabbi Beth Lieberman served as literary editor and a revising translator of the JPS TANAKH: Gender-Sensitive Edition. She is the founder of Textish, an organization whose focus is producing innovative literary works of Jewish scholarship, culture, and practice, and is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) and the Board of Rabbis of Southern California.
