Completing a Mechanical Engineering degree “with honors” typically requires only six additional credit hours of total course work, so students can complete their degree within four years.
Courses taken in the Honors College (e.g. HON 111, 112, 211, 212, 170 and 180) apply toward the Mechanical Engineering degree by satisfying requirements in Human Values and Social Contexts (HVSC), Ethics, and College Composition (ENG 101). Consult the Honors College website to learn how Honor College courses satisfy these requirements.
HON 499 (Honors Thesis) may replace one of the required Mechanical Engineering Technical Electives with advisor approval.
Honors Program students may refer to this Addendum to the standard Mechanical Engineering Curriculum Sheet.
