Research:
My research interests include using genetic techniques to answer questions of marine mammal health and evolution. My master’s research involves analyzing gene variability within the Major Histocompatibility Complex in grey and harbor seals. I aim to investigate the genetic differences between the two species in order to answer the question of why immunity differs to the phocine distemper virus and avian influenza virus.
