Biography

Madeleine is a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Marine Biology. As an undergrad, she worked on several projects involving marine fish physiology and the interactions between diet and thermal performance. She began her Master’s program at UMaine remotely from California in January 2024 before moving to Maine in June. Her work focuses on new types of bait being used in the American lobster fishery and how they affect temperature-sensitive physiological characteristics. She is specifically interested in impacts on lobster metabolism, phenotypic plasticity, and cardiac thermal tolerance.
