Prospective Students & Postdocs
Thank you very much for your interest in my lab at the University of Maine’s Darling Marine Center.
Undergraduates: Students interested in participating in a group capstone project focused on coastal community conservation in Spring 2027 are invited to send Dr. Leslie an email with the subject ‘Spring 2027 capstone.’ See the DMC website for more information on the Semester by the Sea program.
Prospective graduate students: I am not currently recruiting new graduate students. I encourage you to reach out to other faculty affiliated with the School of Marine Sciences, this NSF-funded ecosystem science graduate training program. and the EES Graduate Program if you are interested in pursuing marine conservation science at the University of Maine.
Prospective postdocs: Early career scholars with expertise in the ecological and social sciences and a strong commitment to interdisciplinary, engaged scholarship are encouraged to contact me about potential postdoctoral opportunities focused on projects in both Maine and Mexico. The Smith Fellowship, NRC Fellowships and postdoc led grants to the NSF and NOAA are all potential ways for us to secure the funding to bring your postdoc to Maine. Residence in midcoast Maine at the Darling Marine Center is preferred but not required. I encourage interested individuals to contact me at heather.leslie@maine.edu.
