MaineStreet Human Resources Maintenance: December 19, 2024
On Thursday, December 19, 2024 starting at 6:00pm maintenance will be performed on MaineStreet Human Resources Systems, including Employee and HR Manager Self Service. The downtime is expected to be from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
macOS Sequoia Available
Starting December 16th, 2024, macOS Sequoia will become available for managed devices to self-upgrade via Apple Software Updates or the Apple AppStore. Users will have the option to install and upgrade their Apple Mac device to the latest operating system before it becomes fully recommended in the Spring. In May 2024, macOS Sequoia will be required for all supported devices.
Tempest Retirement
The SSID Tempest will no longer broadcast on January 1, 2025. It is important to connect to Eduroam before this date. How to connect to Eduroam on Windows, Mac, or Android/iOS. Please see us at our walkup Help Desk at Fogler Library, or call (800)-696-4357 with questions or for assistance.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA will be required for all faculty and staff starting on January 1, 2025. If you haven’t already enrolled in MFA, it is recommended to do so prior to January 1, 2025. Please see us at our walkup Help Desk at Fogler Library, or call (800)-696-4347 with any questions or for assistance. There are links to several support articles below that pertain to MFA.

ArcGIS Application Updates
Several ArcGIS applications have been updated:
ArcGIS Pro: Updated to version 3.4
Arc Hydro: Updated to version 3.2.38
ArcGIS Drone2Map: Updated to version 2024.2
ArcGIS Survey123: Updated to version 3.21.62
Availability:
Faculty and Staff: Can download and install these updates immediately starting December 6th.
Computer Labs: Updates will be automatically deployed to lab computers starting December 6th during scheduled maintenance windows.

CampusPortal Upgrade
MyCampus Portal is scheduled for a 2 hour upgrade Tuesday, November 26, 2024 starting at 11:00pm. A maintenance screen with common links will be displayed during the outage. Please contact the UMS:IT Help Desk with any questions, issues, or concerns.
Upcoming Automatic Switch to Eduroam Wireless Network
End User Technology (EUT) will automatically deploy Eduroam configurations to all UMS-managed Macs and iPads (via JAMF), using device certificates for seamless, automatic connection.
• What will happen? All UMS-managed Macs and iPads will be automatically configured to use Eduroam.
• Why is it necessary? To ensure a smooth transition before Tempest is fully disabled.
• When? The rollout starts at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024.
• What to do? Leave devices powered on overnight to ensure they receive the update.
