National History Day Winners 2015

2015 Group-Nat'l ContestMadison Albert 01Madison AlbertMadison Albert of Greely Middle School in Cumberland Center was awarded the Women’s History Award and $1000 at the National History Day contest held annually at the University of Maryland.  Her exhibit, “Race, Education, Equality and Resistance: The Leadership and Legacy of Prudence Crandall and the School for Little Misses of Color,” was chosen as the best representation of women’s studies among students from all over the United States and internationally.  Madison also received the Salute to Courage Award and will represent NHD in Maine at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans during the grand opening of its new exhibit focused on the Pacific Theatre. Her all-expense paid trip will occur in December.
