College of Education and Human Development to honor students, faculty and staff at recognition ceremony
The University of Maine College of Education and Human Development will honor more than 60 students for academic excellence as well as six faculty and staff members at its annual recognition ceremony on Friday April 28 at Wells Conference Center.
The individual undergraduate student award winners are:
- Charity Robbins, Outstanding Elementary Education Award
- Matthew Murray, Outstanding Secondary Education Award
- Alexis LaChance, Outstanding Athletic Training Award
- Jake Osborne, Outstanding KPE-Exercise Science Award
- Adam Gray, Outstanding KPE-Teaching Coaching Award
- Jessica Scott, Outstanding Early Childhood Education Award
- Delaney Woodford, Outstanding Individual and Family Studies Award
- Frederick Maddocks, Dean’s Award
- Jake Osborne, Outstanding International Student Award
- Maude Meeker, Outstanding Student Award
The individual graduate student award winners are:
- Paige Hobbs, Outstanding Human Development Award
- Colleen Dougherty, Student Development in Higher Education Excellence Award
- Arianna Sessoms, Social Justice in Higher Education Award
- Erin Paradis, Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the School of Kinesiology, Physical Education, and Athletic Training
- Lauren Jacobs, Outstanding Graduate Student for Exercise Science Award
- Megan Swanson, Outstanding Counselor Education-School Counseling Award
- Andrew McNally, Outstanding Counselor Education-Mental Health Award
The faculty and staff award recipients are:
- Craig Mason, Excellence in Teaching Award (Full-time faculty)
- Margo Brown, Excellence in Teaching Award (Part-time faculty)
- Elizabeth Allan, Dean’s Faculty Service and Engagement Award and the Robert A. Cobb Distinguished Faculty Member Award
- Vi Thai, Dean’s Staff Service and Engagement Award
- William Dee Nichols, Dean’s Research and Creative Achievement Award
- Catharine Biddle, Mark R. Shibles Award
In addition to the award winners, the college will recognize eight retirees: Elizabeth Dunning, Pamela Kimball, Carla Leathem, John Maddaus, Mary Rosser, Janet Spector, Joan Speyer, and Phyllis Thibodeau.
