Athletic training major awarded Maine Athletic Trainers’ Association scholarship
Brianna Genthner, a third year athletic training student, has received the 2020 Wes Jordan Athletic Training Student Scholarship from the Maine Athletic Trainers’ Association.
The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a deserving athletic training student, who is a member of MATA, and who demonstrates a dedication to the profession, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Genthner is the Maine student representative to the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, where she has dedicated several hours over the past year to representing the state and the University of Maine on the organization’s board.
The Wes Jordan Scholarship is named for the former head athletic trainer at UMaine for more than three decades, starting in 1965. Jordan’s dedication and loyalty to the university and the athletic training profession are well known throughout Maine and New England. Athletic training students at UMaine take classes and practice their skills at the Wes Jordan Athletic Training Education Complex in Lengyel Hall.
