Rock Preparation Laboratory
Our Rock Preparation Laboratory contains saws and other equipment to prepare polished hand samples and thin sections as well as for geochemical analysis. Equipment includes two slab saws, one trim saw, a 36″ vibratory polisher, jaw crusher, disc mill, sieve shaker, shatterbox, 18″ flat grinding lap, thin sectioning saw. For polishing thin sections and other samples, including for electron backscatter diffraction work, we have a Struers Labopol-25 with an autorotating sample holder and a Buehler Vibromet-2 vibratory polisher.
