The university of Maine DNA Sequencing Facility provides the following services.
The University of Maine DNA Sequencing Facility is equipped with an ABI model 3730 DNA Sequencer with the XL Upgrade. The sequencer is capable of running 96 reactions per plate yielding 800-1,000 bases of sequence from a good DNA template.
The 48-capillary 3730 DNA Analyzer is the Gold Standard in medium to-high throughput genetic analysis. DNA fragment analysis has applications such as microsatellites, AFLP, SNP analysis, mutation detection and traditional DNA sequencing.
