Join staff members from Student Accessibility Services , CITL, and faculty who have worked with students with accommodation requests in their courses to discuss tools, strategies, and rationales behind designing courses that are universally accessible for all students. Many students will struggle in traditional classrooms (e.g., a lot of reading, a lot of writing, slide presentations). Universal Design for Learning (UDL) helps remove unintentional barriers put in place in classrooms and allows more students to succeed. In this CoP we will use this time to learn more about UDL approaches, develop concrete workflows and make the needed changes to your course. You will be left with a strong foundational knowledge of UDL and its merit in higher education.
