What are your internship tasks?

Some of my daily tasks included collecting user data, digital design and promotional marketing, and corporate event planning.

What do you like most about your internship at Formlabs?

I really enjoy working with everyone in the global marketing department. When I first began my internship in mid-May, the team at Formlabs was incredibly welcoming. The environment I work in is flexible and diverse and always caters to the needs of its employees. That is something I value in the work world.

What are some things you’re learning during your internship that you couldn’t have learned in the classroom?

There is so much that is learned in a work atmosphere that we aren’t taught in school. For example, we aren’t always taught in the classroom how to send a professional email, advocate for ourselves, or adapt to a working environment. Formlabs helped me to understand all of those elements and to understand the value of them. That is something that I am inordinately grateful for and will never forget.

How will this experience help you as you move forward in your career?

Since this is my first internship, it’s been a pivotal experience. This internship has solidified my interest in my ideal working environment. It is providing me with so much knowledge that I will be able to apply to my internship next summer. It’s helping me to pave the way for the beginning of my career, and I am so grateful for that.

Why did you decide to study business at the Maine Business School?

My dad, Jim. He started his own company 30 years ago that specializes in manufacturing energy-efficient spaces, whether homes, medical offices, industrial spaces, etc. I look up to my dad and hope to follow in his footsteps.
