Katrina Webster

Katrina Webster

Katrina Webster is currently a Master’s student in the Anthropology and Environmental Policy program. She is originally from upstate New York and earned her B.S in Biology with a minor in Writing from Ithaca College. Her undergraduate research centered on the ways in which increased exposure to ultraviolet radiation negatively impacts aquatic organisms— specifically through lethal DNA damage. Upon graduating, Katrina began working for the Global Environment Facility, a multilateral trust fund that provides grants and blended finance for projects related to biodiversity conservation, climate action, and sustainable forest management. This exposure ultimately broadened her understanding of the ways in which people’s livelihoods, cultures, and health are linked to the natural world. She hopes to continue studying ways to implement nature-based solutions and garner support for policies that achieve better public health outcomes.
