Aquaculture Research Noted
UMaine’s research into the area of integrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA) was noted in a Working Waterfront story co-written by Catherine Schmitt, the communications coordinator for the UMaine-based Maine Sea Grant. The story cited research into the relationship between mussels and salmon to influence each other’s health, which is currently being overseen by Ian Bricknell, director of UMaine’s Aquaculture Research Institute (ARI), and also quoted Anne Langston, associate director of ARI, who said IMTA is one of the institute’s key research themes.
