Course Descriptions: Fall 2013 - HTY 461: Colonial British America to 1763

Instructor:  Liam Riordan

Time:  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1:10-2:00

Description:  Our approach to Colonial British America will explore how the distant past remains relevant to the contemporary world.  In addition to making robust use of amazing online sources about the colonial world, we will also take class field trips to the Hudson Museum (on campus) and to the Maine State Museum in Augusta.  The course fulfills the Gen Ed requirement for a writing intensive course for all students.  We will focus throughout the semester on how colonial America is best remembered today.
