Heather Lakey holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in philosophy and gender studies from the University of Maine. She is currently a lecturer in philosophy at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, and an adjunct faculty member with the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program at the University of Maine. Heather’s doctoral dissertation explores the rhetorical relationship between informed consent and abortion. Her teaching interests span a wide range of traditions, including feminist theory, bioethics, and the history of western philosophy.
