Janice Pelletier, MD, FAAP – 2019

Janice L. Pelletier is a pediatric dermatologist who has been in practice in the Bangor area for more than 30 years; she currently serves as the Head of Pediatric Dermatology for Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. A graduate of Winslow High School, Jan earned a BA in Psychology from Harvard University, and graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1984. She is active in the local, state, and national chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and has twice been recognized with an AAP special achievement award for distinguished service. Her research has focused on numerous pediatric health-related topics including ADHD, obesity, malnutrition, and asthma, among others. Her promotion of public health is demonstrated through her legislative testimony, professional presentations for medical and stakeholder groups, and continued participation in AAP, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and as a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. Jan has inspired next-generation health care providers through her teaching as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maine, an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University of New England, and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
