Safety Training
All students and personnel working on Witter Farm must notify their supervisor immediately if they need training or certifications to comply with university, state and federal regulations.
Annual Basic Safety Training and Farm Safety Training (Everyone)
All employees are required to complete both the Annual Basic Safety Training and Farm Safety Training.
University of Maine System safety training resources, including the required annual basic safety training and farm safety training, are available online. Employees must be logged into their UMaine Portal to complete the training programs.
Area-Specific Training (Everyone)
This will be administered by Witter Center staff or trained designee.
This is to be completed initially and annually. Proof of completion to be kept by supervisor (or professor).
Job-Specific Training (Everyone)
This will be administered by professor, Witter Center staff or trained designee.
This is to be completed initially and as needed. Proof of completion (if applicable) is to be kept by supervisor (or professor). Training topics are left up to the discretion of supervisor. (BQA not needed in equine classes, helmet policy not needed in bovine or sheep classes, sheep restraint not needed in equine or bovine classes, etc.).
Release of Risk Form (Co-Op style activity participants required, all others optional)
This will be administered by professor, Witter Center staff or trained designee.

Emergency Contact Info/Proof on Insurance Form (Co-Op style activity participants required, all others optional)
