Paul is a postdoctoral research associate at VEMI.

His research explores Spatial HCI, converging accessible multisensory computing, principles of engineering, and spatial navigation. Current work focuses on the design of inclusive nonvisual interfaces for autonomous transportation.

As Co-PI, Paul helped lead a winning team in the inaugural USDOT Inclusive Design Challenge with the first complete trip accessibility solution for people who are blind and visually impaired in autonomous vehicles, the Autonomous Vehicle Assistant.

Prior to graduate school, Paul worked for the United States Senate.
