Here are some of the great businesses we either visited or heard good things about!

  • 08/15/2018- We visited The Warehouse Restaurant in Caribou.  This place was great!  Not only did they have a wide menu of delicious dishes (the lobster tacos were fantastic!), but it is a really fun, friendly environment…. we even played some basketball after dinner in the back!  14 Evergreen Parkway, Caribou, ME 04736, (207) 492-0869,  Info@WarehouseCaribou.com
  • 12/02/2018- Box of Maine has a variety of products and promotional merchandise from some of the most well-known Maine companies and brands. They let you select what products you want your box filled with and they will ship it out wherever it needs to go.
  • Grammy’s Country Inn – Houlton (restaurant) Quote from Trip Adviser: “This was my second trip to Grammy’s. Again, left the restaurant in agony from so much food! My boyfriend ordered a fisherman’s platter, which was rounded with whole clams, scallops, and French fries. He barely made a dent in it. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was so large I had to cut it into four pieces just to get… “
  • Houlton Farms Dairy: “Established in 1948 Sadie’s Bakery has been providing the area with incredible home-baked goods. Specializing in doughnuts and bread.” “The Flavor Of The Day For Hot, Fresh Home Made Donuts Is Part Of The Fun At Sadie’s Bakery in Houlton Maine. Tim and Sharon O’Donald Have Been Making Donuts, Pastries, Bread Squares And Cookies For Years.”  Yelp
  • Lakeview Restaurant, St. Agatha: “Atmosphere was beautifully rambunctious and warm.  Snowmobiles parked outside, 1 or 2 feet of snow and view of Long Lake is
  • Caribou:  It looks like Yelp liked Frederick’s restaurant on Main St. For lodging, Trip Advisor liked an Aroostook hospitality Inn in Van Buren.

ReEnergy Ashland: ReEnergy Ashland, located in Ashland, ME Aroostook County, powers 37,000 homes annually! How? They utilize organic matter, also known as biomass. ReEnergy burns the biomass, creating steam that can be used to generate electricity!

We visited ReEnergy’s plant in Ashland to get a glimpse of how the business is run. Our team at Undiscovered Maine was very impressed by the complexity of ReEnergy’s operation. From monstrous machines that could be described as mechanical dinosaurs, to rooms lined with screens and computers all with a specific design and purpose to keep the factory running smoothly.
The knowledge and know-how conveyed by the employees here was astounding. We got the sense that, if you work at ReEnergy, you know what you’re doing.
ReEnergy is always seeking talented help! If you believe you have the skills to work with biomass, work in the renewable energy field, or if you would just like more information, check out ReEnergy’s career page here!

ReEnergy’s business doesn’t solely rely on selling clean energy, however. They also offer asset management services. These include stakeholder relations, financial oversight, and even administrative support! Read about these services here.
