Importance of Small Business in Maine

Importance of Small Business in Maine

Come on in, we're open sign

Small businesses hold a sizable portion of our economic structure in Maine so if business owners, residents, and tourists of Maine concentrated on developing these under-appreciated businesses then the state of Maine would be better off. Encouraging small businesses to grow in Maine would be a major component in building up our economy. Considering most of the businesses in Maine are small businesses (99.2%) there needs to be a focus on helping small businesses who are not succeeding to gain customers and be recognized as a legitimate business (you can see our Getting Started & Pro Tips tab to learn how to do so). Maine is currently behind the national average for economic growth and with the rise of automation, states like ours have an increased risk of falling behind. Undiscovered Maine’s goal is to help the small businesses that are in place and act as a starting place to take their business to a higher level. We also hope to encourage people who have ideas and aspirations to start their own business.
