Castle Hill
Welcome to Castle Hill!
Castle Hill was incorporated as a town in 1903, and drew many settlers at that time to work in the booming lumber industry and to farm in the area’s rich soil. The small town, and the hill that shares its name, were both named Castle Hill after early surveyors built a large lookout structure atop the hill, to watch for Canadian encroachment during the bloodless, so-called Aroostook War.
