  • Buckle Island Accessible by boat from Swans Island
    • “Amid the lush forest and thick brambles that comprise Buckle Island, visitors to this serene escape may notice something out of the ordinary that catches their attention.” This unique island is known for its various natural pieces of art and mementos left by visitors. The most famous is a green door between two trees that leads from a dark, shadowy path to a bright field. 
  • Campobello Island New Brunswick, Canada
    • This island is located off the coast of Eastport and Lubec, ME, but is part of New Brunswick, CA. The island is one of the three Fundy Islands, with the others being Grand Manan and Deer Island. The island is full of great things to do while visiting the Downeast area, including boat tours, camping and hiking, stargazing, wildlife watching, lighthouse viewing, and more. 
  • Monhegan Island Accessible by ferry from BoothBay Harbor
    • This island is located 12 miles off of the mainland of Boothbay Harbor as is home to 64 current residents. This Island has rustic cottages, breweries, resteraunts, and immersive ocean views and is aroughly 1 square miles.
  • Old Sow Whirlpool Between Deer Island, New Brunswick, Canada, and Moose Island, Eastport, ME 
    • Old Sow is the largest natural whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere and is one of the five significant whirlpools worldwide. It was formed due to nearby tidal dams built during a failed tidal power project in the 1930s and can be seen on boat charter trips. For those willing to take the risk, the Old Sow Survivor’s Association makes “Survival Certificates” for people who pass through the whirlpool and survive!
