RiSE June Summer Conference 2017
Helping every student succeed: Strategies for engagement, deepening understanding, and addressing student difficulties
Join this community of PK-12 educators for an exciting two days of plenary talks, workshops, and opportunities for discussion. Drawing from examples in mathematics, biology, physics, astronomy, Earth sciences, and chemistry the conference program will focus on strategies to help students succeed in the STEM classroom.
The conference is open to PK-12 STEM educators who want to strengthen and support STEM education in the Maine STEM Partnership (MSP) Community and in their school and/or district. Registration opens April 27 and attendance is limited to 150 participants.
Stipends and contact hours are available to eligible teachers who participate in the entire conference. Stipend recipients who live more than 70 miles away are also eligible for on-campus housing during the conference at no cost.
Location: University of Maine Campus
Hours: On-site registration opens at 4:30 pm Sunday June 25, 2017, followed by dinner and key-note speaker from 6-8 pm. The conference will continue Monday June 26, from 8 am-6 pm and Tuesday June 27, from 8 am-3 pm.
Details: Dinner Sunday will be provided. Lunch vouchers will be provided for Monday and Tuesday;
