
ICFPA Announces Winners of International Forest Sector Innovation Awards Program
UMaine researchers, Sandro Zier and Aysan Najd Mazhar, were recognized by the International Council of Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA) for their innovative work in sustainable packaging as part of the Blue Sky Young Awards program. Zier earned 3rd place for cellulose nanofiber coatings to replace plastic, and Mazhar won 1st place for molded-pulp packaging using restoration wood.
