Sarah Hanscome, MSN, RN

Bio: Sarah Hanscome is a lecturer at the University of Maine School of Nursing. Sarah grew up in a small rural town in Maine. She attended the University of Maine School of Nursing where she received her Bachelors in Nursing in 2017.  She spent five years working full-time at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in the Medical-Surgical department while she completed her Masters in Nursing Education from the University of Maine School of Nursing. During this time, she also worked as an adjunct for the School of Nursing in the laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings. In 2022, she received an Outstanding Graduate Student Award for her research on Simulation-Based Learning in Nursing Education. Sarah is passionate about creating a learning environment that enriches student engagement and interaction. Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her two kids, husband, and dogs.   

Current service/community outreach/other: Sarah continues to work one day a week at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital as a charge nurse in the Medical-Surgical Department.
