Dr. Alicia Bannis, PhD, DNP, RN, MSN, APRN, GNP, CNS, ONC

Dr. Alicia Bannis is the executive director of VisionS Global Institute Inc. and has over 40 years of experience as a registered nurse. Her focus of interest is on Nursing Leadership, Nursing Research, and Curriculum Development. Dr. Bannis provides consultation with national and international nursing agencies on curriculum development. She has undertaken various research studies focusing on Cultural Competence in nursing. Dr. Bannis is also the VisionS Global Scholars Program Director, providing professional development, mentorship, and financial support to young adults interested in health or health-related careers.

Over her twenty-year tenure in nursing education, Dr. Bannis has taught various nursing education levels and has been a speaker at national nursing conferences. Dr. Bannis holds two doctoral degrees to include a Ph.D. in Education degree with a concentration on Nursing Education from Capella University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) from Florida Atlantic University, where she also obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. She obtained her Bachelors in Nursing degree from Lynn University. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP), and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

Dr. Bannis has held the Orthopedic Nurse Certified (ONC) designation for over 25 years and volunteers on the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON) recertification committee. Dr. Bannis is a member of the honor society Sigma Theta Tau International. She is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), Capella University Chapter, the Aspiring Leaders Institute of Nurses Bond, the Georgia Nursing Association (GNA), the American Nurses Association (ANA), the National League of Nurses (NLN), the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON), the American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE) and the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives (GAHE).
