Maine Public cited a study from University of Maine economists in a story titled “Maine Restaurants Beef Up Outdoor Dining Spaces To Survive Wintertime.” According to the study, taxable sales for the Maine hospitality industry decreased 34% between the periods of January–July of last year and January–July of 2019.
