ENR highlights construction of Ferland Center at UMaine

Engineering News-Record New England reported that the construction of the Ferland Engineering Education and Design Center is moving forward in spite of rising prices and material and labor shortages. The new engineering center, which will house the biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering programs, is on track for completion in 2022.

Q106.5 FM reported that the University of Maine holds the record for the largest solid 3D-printed item. The boat, 3Dirigo, was printed at UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center in 2019 using what was at that time the largest prototype polymer 3D printer.
