DownEast features Q&A with Dagher on the Factory of the Future

DownEast Magazine featured a Q&A with Habib Dagher, director of the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC), on plans for the Factory of the Future. Scheduled to be complete in 2026, the advanced manufacturing facility will be housed in the new Green Engineering and Materials building, a partnership between the ASCC, the Maine College of Engineering and Computing and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. GEM is supported by several funding sources, including the Harold Alfond Foundation through UMS TRANSFORMS, UMaine, UMS, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Maine Jobs & Recovery Act, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the state of Maine and the Northern Border Regional Commission’s Catalyst Program.
