BIM Plus highlights 3D-printed natural floor created by UMaine and Oak Ridge National Laboratory

BIM Plus reported that the University of Maine and Oak Ridge National Laboratory have created a 3D-printed, recyclable floor cassette using biodegradable materials, which could replace steel and concrete floors. The “SM2ART Nfloor cassette” combines corn-derived polylactic acid and wood flour, offering a strong and eco-friendly construction alternative.
