Country Folks showcases work from UMaine Plant Disease Diagnostics Lab

Country Folks interviewed Alicyn Smart, plant pathologist and director of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Plant Disease Diagnostics Lab, and one of her laboratory technicians, Ruby Bonilla, about several new plant diseases discovered in Maine last year. The research team’s goals are to complete various tests on the plant samples to narrow down what the pathogens may be until they have clear answers and can provide recommendations on how to remove them.
