Maine Monitor features UMaine wood energy research
The Maine Monitor featured research at the University of Maine’s Forest Bioproducts Research Institute to develop alternatives to fossil fuels by using wood that might otherwise go to waste. Ian Toal, mechanical process engineer, spoke to the online publication about the project. “I’ve got a 5-year-old at home that I still can’t imagine what kind of world he’s going to grow up in. Anything I can do to help make that a world close to what we’re living in, or a better world, is motivation for me,” Toal said.
