Media shares Gill winning science communication award

The Bangor Daily News and Trendeepro reported that Jacquelyn Gill, associate professor of paleoecology and plant ecology at the University of Maine, is one of the first recipients of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Awards for Excellence in Science Communication from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. The organization highlighted Gill’s outreach and advocacy on Twitter, where her profile has gained more than 100,000 followers; her columns in national publications such as The Washington Post and Nature; and her work on the Warm Regards podcast, which she co-created and co-hosted from March 2016 to March 2021. This podcast was one of five nominees for “Best Green Podcast” at the 2020 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards in Los Angeles.
