Dill speaks with BDN about browntail moth hair

Jim Dill, a University of Maine Cooperative Extension pest management specialist, spoke with the Bangor Daily News about browntail moth hair for a story titled “Now is the time to destroy browntail moth eggs.” Dill said the hair from the larvae that will hatch in August or September will pose little danger. “The hairs don’t cause much problem until about the third instar in the spring.”
